MAKING DANISH HISTORY A TANGIBLE EXPERIENCE
Histotoriet is a permanent exhibition about the history of Denmark from the stone age to now, aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 11. Part of Møntergarden in central Odense, the exhibition is located in a 200-year old house with wonky doors and tiny rooms. The scenography was developed by scenography studio Torden og Lynild, who designed an education and magical universe that allows children to interact, play and learn. Centered around 3 characters (an archaeologist, a historian, and a conservator) the exhibition boasts a myriad of machines, games, secret passages, illustrations, and objects that takes children through the ages. We defined a visual voice for the 3 characters, designed graphics and wayfinding elements, and developed an identity for the exhibition to tie together the different rooms, time periods, and activities.
